What material are the pieces of jewelry from Blushing Indigo made of?
All beads used come from Bali's finest bead shop, which exclusively distributes Matsuno glass beads from Japan. The metal parts used are made of 24k gold-plated or silver-plated rhodium-finished brass and come from Germany and Italy.
Each piece is handmade, so there may be slight variations in color, size, shape, or texture.
We are increasingly expanding our range with delicate necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and anklets made of 925 sterling silver. The 18k gold plating is of very high quality, so you will be able to enjoy your Blushing Indigo jewelry for a long time.
What are the working conditions like in Bali?
All bracelets are produced in a family-run cottage industry in Bali. Our workers belong to the local Muslim minority, who are famous for their craftsmanship. We work closely with our producer and head craftsman and occasionally visit the production facilities when we are on-site. Feel free to follow us on Instagram. How can I properly care for my jewelry?
Avoid contact with water and remove your jewelry when exercising. Please also note that hairspray, body lotion, and perfume can damage the alloy. Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom, as the humidity there can damage the surface. The ideal place for storage is an airtight container or a closed jewelry box. Clean your jewelry gently with a dry cloth after wearing it to remove any dirt.
Can the gold plating come off?
Our jewelry is high-quality gold-plated or silver-plated fashion jewelry or sterling silver jewelry. The metal parts used originate from Germany and Italy and are imported to Bali. Our gold plating on the lobster clasps, logo tags, and extension chains consists of 24-karat gold. However, this is a layer that can wear off depending on how it is worn.
This also applies to the gold and silver beads. These are coated on the inside, so they will become duller over time due to friction against the jewelry wire. Please observe our care instructions below so that you can enjoy your piece of jewelry for a long time.
